About me

I learned to read when I was four years old, and since then I’ve rarely been without a book in hand. I would read everything I could get my hands on, and nothing much has changed.

I graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor’s in Science, and following a brief stint working in an ecology lab, I earned a Post-graduate Diploma in Journalism from Humber College in Toronto.

I spent the next decade working in communications, focused mainly on health and scientific research and developing content in plain language. During this time, I earned a Certificate in Editing from George Brown College in Toronto. (More details are available on my LinkedIn profile.)

I used to think that this meandering career path was a weakness, but now I know that all of these experiences are useful for a writer and editor. I’ve had the opportunity to work on many different kinds of projects, including scientific articles, newspapers and magazines, and annual reports. I’ve edited different styles of writing for a variety of publications and audiences. And I’ve written content ranging from short pieces like web articles and media releases to long-form articles and literature reviews.

I love to read and write, and I love to help people – qualities that are important for a good editor and writer. My services can help readers understand and enjoy your content.
